In this role, you will:
The Head of Trading will lead and scale the trading function for PariMatch’s sportsbook and betting operations.
This role is accountable for P&L, risk management, trading strategy, and the performance of the trading team. You will drive profitability, set exposure limits, and ensure robust risk control, while collaborating across product, tech, analytics, and commercial teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the full P&L of the trading book and lead revenue-risk optimization.Develop and implement trading strategies, risk policies, and exposure parameters to maximize profitability while minimizing risk.
- Lead and mentor a team of traders, ensuring high performance, training, and strong risk awareness.
- Monitor and analyze market trends, competitor pricing, and player behavior to inform trading decisions.
- Set trading limits and define risk frameworks (e.g., by region, product, event) to protect the business.
- Collaborate with Product and Tech teams to enhance pricing tools, recommendation engines, and trading infrastructure.
- Work with Analytics / BI to build dashboards, reporting, and predictive models for risk and trading performance.
- Partner with Commercial / CRM teams to design promotional offers, adjust pricing, and optimize margin impact from trading side.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and licensing requirements in trading operations, including risk controls and checks.
- Drive capacity planning, forecasting, and budgeting for trading activities.
- Report to executive leadership on trading performance, risk exposure, and growth opportunities.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in sports trading / iGaming trading, including hands-on risk management and P&L responsibility (or equivalent).
- Proven track record in setting and optimizing trading strategies, risk control, and exposure.
- Strong analytical skills and comfort working with large data sets; experience in building or working with pricing models.
- Excellent leadership and team‑management experience; ability to hire, develop, and retain high-performing traders.
- Good commercial acumen and understanding of iGaming economics / business levers.
- Experience working cross-functionally with product, tech, analytics, and commercial teams.
- Good knowledge of regulatory environments, betting markets, and compliance as related to trading.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
Preferred / Nice to Have
- Experience in global markets (e.g., Europe, LATAM, Asia) and managing cross-jurisdictional risk.
- Experience with predictive modeling, machine‑learning approaches to risk / odds.
- Familiarity with leading trading systems, pricing engines, or proprietary risk software.
- Experience in a scale-up or fast-growth iGaming business.
